Abhyanga Practitioner
Training

Learn the Art of Ayurvedic Bodywork

In a world where stress, burnout and nervous system dysregulation have become commonplace, therapeutic touch remains one of the most powerful tools we have to support healing. Learn how to confidently offer Abhyanga, Ayurveda's most beloved body therapy, through this comprehensive practitioner training.

We live in a time where stress, anxiety, burnout, poor sleep and nervous system dysregulation have become commonplace. While many people seek support through massage and wellness therapies, what they are often truly seeking is a deeper sense of grounding, nourishment and connection.

Abhyanga offers exactly that.

Within the Ayurvedic tradition, Abhyanga is regarded as one of the most important therapies for preserving health and restoring balance. Through the application of warm herbal oils and intentional therapeutic touch, Abhyanga supports circulation, tissue nourishment, lymphatic movement, healthy ageing, emotional wellbeing and nervous system regulation.

For the receiver, it can feel profoundly nurturing.

For the practitioner, it becomes a way of offering meaningful care that extends far beyond the physical body.

This training is an invitation to learn one of Ayurveda's most revered healing arts and to develop the confidence to offer it safely, professionally and with integrity.

A 6-Day Immersive Abhyanga Practitioner Training for Bodyworkers, Wellness Practitioners and Emerging Ayurvedic Therapists.

This Is More Than
Learning a Massage Sequence

Many massage trainings focus on techniques. This training focuses on understanding why those techniques matter.

You will learn not only how to perform a full Abhyanga treatment, but also how to understand the Ayurvedic principles that inform every aspect of the experience.

You will develop an understanding of the doshas, the therapeutic application of oils, the importance of practitioner presence, the role of the nervous system, and how touch can be used as a powerful tool for supporting healing and wellbeing.

Throughout the training, equal emphasis is placed on theory, practical application and embodied learning.

You will both give and receive treatments, allowing you to experience first-hand the transformative effects of Abhyanga while developing confidence in your own hands.

What You Will Learn

Throughout this six-day immersive training and accompanying online modules, you will learn:

  • The foundations and philosophy of Ayurvedic bodywork

  • • The history and significance of Abhyanga within the Ayurvedic tradition

  • • Ayurvedic anatomy and the role of the doshas in treatment planning

  • • The qualities of touch and how they influence the body and mind

  • • Therapeutic use of oils and how to select appropriate oils for different constitutions and presentations

  • • Preparation of the treatment space and creating a therapeutic experience

  • • Full-body Abhyanga sequence and techniques

  • • Practitioner body mechanics and sustainable practice

  • • Introduction to marma points and their relevance within treatment

  • • Nervous system regulation through Ayurvedic bodywork

  • • Contraindications, client safety and professional considerations

  • • Adaptations for different constitutions, ages and stages of life

  • • Consultation considerations and treatment planning

  • • Practical integration into clinical practice, retreats and wellness offerings

Abhyanga cannot be fully learned through books or observation alone.

Like yoga, it must be experienced.

Throughout the training you will spend significant time practising, receiving feedback and refining your skills in a supportive learning environment.

You will work closely with fellow students, developing confidence through repetition, observation and hands-on experience.

By the end of the training, the treatment sequence will feel natural and embodied rather than memorised.

This approach allows you to graduate with practical skills that can be applied immediately.

You will leave with a deeper understanding of Ayurvedic bodywork, greater confidence in your touch and a practical skillset that can be integrated into existing wellness offerings or developed into a standalone service.

For many students, the training becomes more than a professional qualification.
